In-home parrotnanny visits.
(San Francisco Bay Area)
I will come to your home and see your bird in its own environment and
work with you and your family so that we can discover the reasons behind a
problem behavior. Screaming, Biting, and Feather Destructive behaviors or other
anxiety can be managed. Pricing is flat rate $35 / hour and .60 /mile roundtrip.
Grooming services can be added if desired. Hygiene care is taken to avoid
transfer of fomites (cooties) from one home to another.
In-home grooming.

I will come to your home and calmly groom your bird by toweling your bird
gently and proceeding with his/her stress level in mind. Rest periods are
offered and a nice shower rounds out this service! Pricing for grooming only is
mileage plus:
$25 Small Bird (Sun Conure and smaller)
$35 Medium Bird (Grey, Amazon, etc.)
$40 Large Bird (Large Macaw, Large Cockatoo, etc.)
Psittacine Cuisine
Warm cooked foods add wholesome nutrition and fill an emotional need in
your parrot’s life. Organic Grains, organic produce, and tasty seeds and nuts
are cooked fresh and frozen and are ready for pick up or delivery! All my
recipes are high in Vitamin A and Essential Fatty Acids. Pricing is as follows:

Homey and Attentive
Personalized Boarding in My Home
 
My home is set up for parrots. I have a 4’x6’x6’ Exotic Enclosure
in my living room (see photo) as well as outdoor cages with a misting system
for some playtime on nice days (see photo). I serve produce in the am
and warm cooked foods in the pm with showers offered daily. If your
parrot is spoiled, anxious, or just used to lots of interaction and out-of-cage
time, I can provide a very comfortable stay while you’re away. You are welcome
to bring your bird’s own cage or use one of mine. (see photo of Grey guest) A
recent vet check is required and pick up/delivery service can be arranged.
In-home visits while you’re
away
If you want someone with parrot knowledge to visit your parrot while
you’re away, call parrotnanny. I suggest that you have a house sitter for any
extensive trips but many times they are not comfortable handling your bird.
Visits are $35/hr and .60 mile RT.
Peace of Mind Placement
Many people don’t have a clue who would take their parrot if something
happened and they didn’t come home. Most family members and friends would prefer
not to be placed in this position. If you worry about the future of your parrot,
subscribe to Peace of Mind Placement.
I will visit your parrot periodically and get to know him
or her, and I will have you fill out an extensive questionnaire about your
bird’s quirks, preferences and personality. You may then list me as the person
to contact to retrieve your grieving parrot and help him or her through the next
phase of his life.
I will bring him to my home and support him and work with
him until I can find him or her a suitable new home. I will also support and
educate the new family in the ways of the parrot.
Phone/Email Consultations
If you don’t live in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like to discuss
your parrot, please contact me to schedule an appointment. The charge is $30 for
a half hour phone discussion or $70 for an email session taking place over a two
day period. Many clients find the email session is quite helpful and end with
the phone consultation after the history and background of the situation is
shared via email.
